RJ has been a steady part of Kinexus CPAs and Advisors since 2011. As a Partner, he brings a deep skill set in individual and business taxation, tax planning, business startups, and payroll. Inside the firm, he is known as the Systems Management Czar, Technology Czar, and Staff Relations Czar, a set of titles he earned by keeping operations smooth and helping the team stay connected. Before joining Kinexus, RJ worked as a tax accountant at Adams, Hafen and Co., where he gained valuable experience that shaped his approach to client service.

What Drives Him

RJ believes that good systems create confident clients. He enjoys helping people understand their options, plan, and build smart financial habits that carry them through every stage of their business or personal life. He has built a reputation for solving problems, improving processes, and supporting the people around him.

Education and Memberships

RJ earned a Master of Accountancy from Southern Utah University and a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Dixie State University. He is a Certified Public Accountant and an active member of both the American Institute of CPAs and the Utah Association of CPAs.

Outside the Office

RJ’s world revolves around his lively family, which includes his wife and their five children. When he is not working, he enjoys anything related to sports. He is officially retired from his legendary recreational softball career and now spends more time sending golf balls into places they were never meant to go. He also enjoys shooting sports and once trained under a retired Navy SEAL. RJ likes to study political trends, too, and will admit that he probably knows just enough about them to land himself in trouble.
